1st Meeting of the 19th ACWO Board of Directors, 22 March 2019

The 1^st Meeting of the 19^th ACWO Board of Directors (2018-2020) was held in Singapore at the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) on 22^nd March 2019. Held at SCWO Centre, this is the first meeting since SCWO took over ACWO presidency in 2018. Dr June Goh extended a warm welcome to members of the Confederation Council and fellow ASEAN delegates to Singapore and the meeting.

The ACWO Board of Directors consists of the 10 ASEAN member countries – National Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodian Women for Peace and Development, Kongres Wanita Indonesia, Lao Women’s Union, National Council of Women’s Organisations of Malaysia, Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, National Council of Women of the Philippines, National Council of Women of Thailand, Vietnam Women’s Union and the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations.

It was a very fruitful discussion where all 10 national councils raised many inspiring ideas relating to promoting the well-being of women in ASEAN and empowering women and girls from the various sectors.
