NCWP serves as the national coordinating body of several national women’s organizations, people’s organizations, and councils of women nationwide. Since its inception in 1946, the organization has been instrumental in promoting the socio-economic status of women through the implementation of existing laws/policies on women. Being founded on 20th Oct. 1930, the Vietnam Women’s Union is a unique women’s organization, representing all groups of women in Vietnam. KONGRES  WANITA INDONESIA (KOWANI)

The first Indonesian Women’s Congress was formed on December 22, 1928, in Yogyakarta. In 1935, it was renamed the Indonesian Women’s Congress and in 1946 it was changed to the Indonesian Women’s Congress with the abbreviation KOWANI. In 2009, KOWANI raised a shared concern to form a common platform that focuses on women and children in Education, Health, Supremacy of Constitutional Law, People’s Welfare, nation’s dignity, Environment, Human Rights, equality, and gender justice. KOWANI now has 20 women affiliates throughout Indonesia.

NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN’S ORGANISATIONS, MALAYSIA (NCWO)

The National Council of Women’s Organisations (NCWO), a non-political, non-religious body, was formed in 1963 and currently serves as a consultative and advisory body for 78 national affiliates, 170 state affiliates, and 13 state councils. It has no control over the internal affairs of affiliate organisations, but draws them together on issues in order to present a united front. Its aim is to raise the status of women and assist in the welfare of both women & children.
