NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN OF THE PHILIPPINES (NCWP)
NCWP serves as the national coordinating body of several national women’s organizations, people’s organizations, and councils of women nationwide. Since its inception in 1946, the organization has been instrumental in promoting the socio-economic status of women through the implementation of existing laws/policies on women. One of its significant achievements in advocacy works is the creation of the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW), the National Government Machinery for Women.

VIET NAM WOMEN’S UNION (VWU)
Being founded on 20th Oct. 1930, the Vietnam Women’s Union is a unique women’s organization, representing all groups of women in Vietnam. It takes care of women’s legitimate and legal rights and works for women’s advancement and gender equality. VWU has an elaborate network stretching from the central to provincial, district, and communal levels with a total membership of nearly 14 million women. It has promoted women’s active participation in national construction, defense, and development.

KONGRES WANITA INDONESIA (KOWANI)
The first Indonesian Women’s Congress was formed on December 22, 1928, in Yogyakarta. In 1935, it was renamed the Indonesian Women’s Congress and in 1946 it was changed to the Indonesian Women’s Congress with the abbreviation KOWANI. In 2009, KOWANI raised a shared concern to form a common platform that focuses on women and children in Education, Health, Supremacy of Constitutional Law, People’s Welfare, nation’s dignity, Environment, Human Rights, equality, and gender justice. KOWANI now has 20 women affiliates throughout Indonesia.

NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN’S ORGANISATIONS, MALAYSIA (NCWO)
The National Council of Women’s Organisations (NCWO), a non-political, non-religious body, was formed in 1963 and currently serves as a consultative and advisory body for 78 national affiliates, 170 state affiliates, and 13 state councils. It has no control over the internal affairs of affiliate organisations, but draws them together on issues in order to present a united front. Its aim is to raise the status of women and assist in the welfare of both women & children.

NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN OF THAILAND (NCWT)
It acts as a focal point for coordinating, promoting, and supporting all the activities of women’s organizations throughout Thailand. The Council studies, collects information, and exchanges ideas among women’s organizations, domestically and internationally, for the purposes of creating stability, security, understanding, and well-being for all people but especially women. NCWT looks for possible ways and means of raising the status and quality of life of Thai women by removing or solving prevailing problems and obstacles against the development of women.

CAMBODIAN WOMEN FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT (CWPD)
Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD) began as the Women’s Association of Cambodia (WAC), a nationwide organization, established on December 2nd, 1978. CWPD is a local non-government organization (NGO) that collaborates across divisions, including the government, NGO, and private sector. CWPD is dedicated to progress, moving forward to build a peaceful nation, contributing to improving the quality of life of Cambodian women and their families, alleviating poverty, and enhancing social integration of the disadvantaged and the marginal.

LAO WOMEN’S UNION (LWU)
The Lao Women’s Union (LWU) was established on July 20th, 1955. The Union’s emphasis is to heighten women’s political awareness and understanding of the government’s policies and directions, in order to defend the nation and to create better living conditions for all Laotian people. The LWU also promotes educational activities that contribute to the eradication of illiteracy, in order to achieve gender equality and the emancipation of women.

MYANMAR NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR WOMEN’S AFFAIRS (MWAF)
Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs was established on 3rd July 1996. It is a non-governmental organization for the advancement of women in Myanmar, encompassing women of all national races and all walks of life. Currently, there are 5.2 million members. MWAF’s mission is to promote the empowerment and advancement of women as well as to protect their life security.

The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) was established in 1980 as the National Coordinating body of women’s organisations in Singapore. SCWO has more than 60 member organisations, representing over 600,000 women, and it serves to unite them to work toward the ideals of ‘Equal Space, Equal Voice and Equal Worth’ for women in Singapore.
