EVENT 17TH ACW HA NOI, ED Husna with VWU presenter at Open Session of 17th ACW in Ha Noi Vietnam

At the 17th ACW Meeting in Ha Noi, Vietnam, ACWO President Dr Thet Thet Zin received an invitation to present an intervention note at the Open Session of ACW Meeting on 23 Oct 2018. Following ACWO’s BOD’s decision in Manila, we extend an invitation to ACWO Board of Director/President of VWU, Dr Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, to deliver ACWO’s intervention note. Due to her earlier commitment, she has to requesther deputy to represent ACWO. Below is the intervention note prepared by VWU with assistance from ACWO’s Executive Director, Dr Husna who was also present in Ha Noi.

ASEAN-EU Policy Dialogue on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and Girls, 22 October 2018, Ha Noi, Viet Nam

This event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) of Viet Nam, the ASEAN Secretariat, and supported by the Enhanced Regional ASEAN-EU Dialogue Instrument (E-READ). The theme of this event is “Implementing SGD 5: Gender Equality at Work”. This Policy Dialogue aims to serve as an inaugural platform to discuss  and exchange views on challenges,good practices and evidence-based solutions from the perspectives of ASEAN and the European Union on the implementation of SGD Goal 5.

Seminar on Gender and Media Literacy in ASEAN, 21 October 2018, Ha Noi, Viet Nam

This event is jointly organised by the Ministry  of  Labour,  Invalids,  and  Social  Affairs  (MOLISA)  of  Viet  Nam,  the  ASEAN Secretariat, and supported by UN Women – Viet Nam.

The seminar aims to serve as a platform for exchanging insights and perspectives on how to promote gender sensitive media and how media literacy can contribute to combatting harmful depictions of women and girls and to transforming gender relations in the ASEAN context. The seminar will also engage the youth and change makers to promote positive portrayal of women and girls in the media.
